Before attempting any DIY repairs or modifications to your aircon, please note that these systems contain harmful CFC or HFC gases - all under high pressure. Exposure to this refrigerant gas can cause blindness and burns.
The deliberate release of these gases to atmosphere is a criminal offence with penalties of up to 5 years in jail plus a fine.
  


 
Air conditioning and climate control

Many of today's cars are fitted with air-conditioning or climate control. Each system is designed to keep the inside of the vehicle cool in the heat, and warm in the cold.

General
Like many other mechanical and electronic systems in your vehicle, the air-conditioning and climate control are normally very reliable; but all systems require a regular inspection. This ensures that the system:

  • operates effectively
  • prevents undue strain on the engine
  • helps to reduce fuel consumption
  • helps the environment
  • prevents the build up of bacteria, preventing bad odours.
Our aircon service can be carried out at your place of work, at home or at our workshops.


Our service will...

  • Pressure test the system
  • Record "before and after" temperature
  • Check condition of condensor, hoses and wiring
  • Recover all refrigerant
  • Vacuum test system (min. of 30 minutes)
  • Carry out leak test
  • Re-charge system with refrigerant and oil (to manufacturer's spec.)
Replacement parts
Where parts of the system need replacing, our suppliers can provide original parts - no grey imports.

Training
All of our engineers are trained and certified to UK government standards, and undergo annual refresher training. This is the same standard that is will be made mandatory in the UK for all aircon engineers in July this year (2010).
